For local Brookings Businesses/Organizations That Have Been Deemed Non-Essential
On April 14, 2020, Brookings City Council presented Introduction and First Reading on Ordinance 20-006. The proposed ordinance defines which organizations are deemed essential and calls for the closure of all other non-essential organizations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. The ordinance also directs citizens to stay at home with the exception of performing and conducting services that are deemed necessary.
Before filling out the application available below, please review Ordinance 20-006. If you operate an organization that has already been deemed essential, there is no need to complete this application.
If you have an organization that has been defined as non-essential that you believe should be deemed essential, please download the application form provided below, fill it out, and submit it via the submission link below, email it to the City Manager, or mail it via post to: Attn: City Manager, City Hall, 520 3rd Street, Suite 230, Brookings, SD 57006.
Your application will be reviewed by the City Manager in consultation with the City Attorney and other pertinent professionals. You will receive a response on your application within three (3) business days of submission.
