The A.B.L.E. Award (Ability, Belief, Leadership and Equality to Achieve Access For All) is an annual award program designed to recognize the outstanding commitment of a business or public entity in fulfilling the goals of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Highlighting the efforts of an outstanding business or entity may motivate others to provide improved accessibility to goods and services.

This year, Mayor Corbett and the Brookings Committee for People who have Disabilities will present the following awards:

Brian Gatzke
Sixth Street Centre & Condominiums

Hy-Vee Food Store
Human Resources Department

The ABLE Awards presentation will be held in conjunction with the Butler Human Rights Award, the Mayor’s Awards for Historic Preservation and the Mayor’s Generational Leadership Award at McCrory Gardens Education & Visitors Center, 631 22nd Avenue, on July 19, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the program beginning at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.  Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.
