Due to winter weather, the contractor will need to work into next week on the traffic signal at Olwien and 22nd Ave. They are hoping to have everything completed and final adjustments done by Wednesday, January 8th, but will be working Monday and Tuesday as well.
The contractor is scheduled to install the traffic signal at the intersection of 22nd Avenue and Olwien Street during the week of December 30th, depending on weather. There will be one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times during the work and traffic control devices will be in place to mark the work areas. Traffic may have some delays in the Olwien Street area where lanes are reduced for the work. The installation should take approximately one week.
The public is encouraged to drive safely through the detour areas. The City of Brookings appreciates the public’s patience during the construction project.
