The City of Brookings has implemented a resource providing businesses and organizations within the community who have been deemed non-essential an option to have their essential/non-essential status re-evaluated. To request a change in status, organizations should visit the City of Brookings COVID-19 Info page at www.cityofbrookings.org and download, fill out, and submit the Essential Business Designation Request - Application for Review. The city manager will then review the application in consultation with the city attorney and other pertinent professionals. The City will evaluate applications and provide status decisions to businesses promptly.
“The City recognizes the hardship that many individuals and businesses are facing at this time,” says City Manager Paul Briseno. “We are taking steps to make sure all members of the community can have their voices heard, and to mitigate impact to our local business community as much as possible.”
