The Brookings Human Rights Commission is sponsoring its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day contest for Brookings School District students, Intermediate through 12th Grade. This contest is designed for students to reflect on Dr. King’s ideas and the effect on our community through their contest entry.
• Students in Camelot Intermediate School can submit an entry in the poster contest.
• Middle School and High School students can compete in this year’s essay contest.
• The theme is "In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.”

Winners will be presented with cash prizes by the Brookings City Council on January 28, 2020. All poster entries will be displayed on the City’s Website (www.cityofbrookings.org), on the City’s Government Channel (Mediacom and Swiftel Channel 9), and at the Library.
Entries must be submitted to school offices or the City Human Resources Office on or before 12:00p.m. on January 10, 2020.
