The Commission

The Brookings Preservation Commission administers Historic Preservation Zoning, identifies and nominates properties to the National Register of Historic Places, and produces educational material describing Brookings historic resources.

Residency:	Yes, required

The Commission is required to have at least two professional members from the disciplines of history, architecture, archaeology, paleontology, urban planning, and law. Total membership must include at least 2 professionals and at least 3 non-professional members who have a demonstrated interest, experience or knowledge in historic preservation.
