The Commission
The Brookings Preservation Commission administers Historic Preservation
Zoning, identifies and nominates properties to the National Register
of Historic Places, and produces educational material describing
Brookings historic resources.

The Commission is required to have at least two professional members
from the disciplines of history, architecture, archaeology, paleontology,
urban planning, and law. Total membership must include at least
2 professionals and at least 3 non-professional members who have
a demonstrated interest, experience or knowledge in historic preservation.
