Hillcrest Aquatic Center is closed for the 2008 season.
HILLCREST AQUATIC CENTER
General Information & Rules
 Open Swim Hours will be 12:00 (noon) – 8:30pm Monday thru Friday
and 1:00-8:30pm Saturday and Sunday.
Family Swim Hours are Monday
thru Thursday 5:00-6:30 and Friday 5:30-6:30pm. During Family Swim
children must be accompanied by
a parent or guardian.
Parking is available directly south of the
center entrance and south and east of the tennis courts.
Handicap
Accessibility: the center has available a lift and water-wheelchair
for those who need these to access the various pools.
Lap Swimming/Water
Walking and Aqua Aerobics will be held 12:00-1:00pm Monday thru
Friday and during Family Swim hours.
Hillcrest Aquatic Center will
close at 6:00pm on July 4th and 6:00pm the last day of the season.
Admission
fee or season tickets are required for all swimmer and spectators
2 years of age and older.
Daily Admission patrons leaving the pool
will be allowed to re-enter on that same calendar day with an intact
daily wrist band.
Season Swim Pass will be a reusable silicone wristband that must be worn at all times while in the facility.
Season Passes
are not transferable. Individual tickets may be used only by the
individual that purchased the ticket and family passes
are for immediate family members to include: parent and children
or stepchildren under 18 years of age. Day care providers, cousins,
nieces and
nephews,
neighbors, grandchildren and others are NOT included in family
passes.
Season Passes that are misused will be revoked. Lost or
stolen season passes maybe replaced at Park and Recreation office for
$15.00. Your receipt must be shown to have it replaced. Children
ages 4 and older are not allowed in the opposite sex locker rooms.
Family locker rooms are available.
Image recording devices may not
be used in locker rooms.
There will be a 5 minute safety break at
2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, 7:00 and 8:00pm daily to help remind patron what
time it is. All
patrons must exit the water at this time. People may enter
the pool area to look for children but must leave an ID, cell phone or key
as a deposit and must exit the pool area
within 15 minutes or pay the daily fee.
PA system is for pool use
only, paging will NOT be done.
When pool management hears thunder
or sees lightning, all swimmers and patrons are required to clear
the pool and deck area for 30
minutes after the last clap of thunder is heard or lightning is
sighted.
Bather Attire:
• Swimmers must be attired in swimsuits,
which must include linings and have adequate coverage. Other apparel, including
under-garments
worn under swimsuits, is not permitted for health reasons. T-shirts worn under/over
swimsuits should not be longer than the knees. • Street clothes
are acceptable for patrons who are wading or watching others.
• Footwear may
not be worn while swimming or wading. Footwear may be allowed in
sand area.
• Infants/children not toilet trained and incontinent adults
must wear snug plastic pants under their swimsuits or a swim diaper.
Expected
behavior on slides and tubes:
• Children going down slides in zero
depth area must be able to climb the ladder by themselves. Children will
slide feet first, on
backside, one at a time and must not climb up the slides. • All patrons using the
large water slides MUST BE 48 inches TALL. Patrons will wait for the guard
to signal and then proceed
down the slide, feet first, seated on their bottom, hands inside the rail,
and facing forward.
• Patrons wearing glasses or sunglasses are asked
to hold them while going down the slide.
• Parents/guardians may not
catch children in the splashdown area.
• Patrons are asked not to
sit, swim, or loiter along the edge of the splashdown area.
• One
person at a time on tubes. The rider is to remain on the tube the
entire ride. No stopping, twisting, or turning while
riding on the tube.
• Return the tube to the tube corral.
Expected behavior when diving:
• Diving is permitted only
in designated areas. • Back dives, back jumps, flips,
or cartwheels from the side of the pool are not permitted.
• Only one person
is permitted on the diving board and the ladder at a time. All
dives must be forward in nature off the
front end of the board with one bounce per dive.
• Divers must swim directly to
the ladder without stopping and leave the diving area.
Expected
pool behavior:
•
Roughness, running, pushing others, dunking, splashing,
snapping of towels, hanging on the separation/lane rope that divides
the pool, and any other rough housing actions are not permitted.
Personal items allowed in pool area: • Strollers, infant seats, and
other personal items may be brought in but must be kept from the
water’s edge and from emergency corridor
areas.
• Swim goggles, cameras or video cameras, radios/walkmans (listening
on headsets), handheld umbrellas, and lawn chairs. Masks,
fins and snorkels may only be used by lap swimmers.
Personal items not allowed:
• Inflatables of any kind (waterwings,
air mattresses, etc.).
• Life jackets (except for disabled persons requiring such protection).
• Gum, tobacco, and alcohol.
• Glass containers of any kind.
 Admittance to Pools:
Admission to the pools will be refused
to all persons having contagious diseases or other infectious
conditions such as colds, ring-worm, fevers, foot infections, skin lesions,
inflamed eyes, ear discharge,
or any other
condition which has the appearance of being infectious. The
department and/or pool manager reserve(s) the right to dismiss,
suspend, or prohibit from the pool and/or
related facilities any person endangering the health,
safety, or
pleasure of the
pool
patrons.
No person shall be allowed to enter the
pool while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs. Children
under 8 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible individual. Children left unsupervised
will be dismissed, along
with the person responsible for their supervision.
