PRE-SEASON OPEN SKATING: September 10 - November 12, Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8 p.m. OPEN SKATING (starting Saturday, November 8): M, T, W, Th, F: 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. M, T, Th: 8:00 - 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays: 7:15 - 9:15 p.m. Saturdays: 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. Sundays: 1:30 - 3:45 p.m. Daily Admission: $3.00/person Discount card: $25.00/10 daily admissions Skate Rental: $2.00/pair Skate Sharpening: $2.00/pair OPEN HOCKEY (starting Monday, November
17): FALL ADULT HOCKEY: Meeting November 5, 7:00 p.m. at the Larson Ice Center. All activity will be on Wednesday evenings, beginning November 12 and ending December 17. League fees will be $40 due November 12 before taking the ice. WINTER ADULT HOCKEY: All activity will be on Wednesday evenings, beginning January 7 and ending March 11. League fees will be $80 due January 7 before taking the ice. BROOMBALL: Meeting January 18, 7:30 p.m. at the Larson Ice Center. Activities will be held on Sundays from 6:30 - 9 p.m. beginning January 18 and ending March 1. Fees will be announced at a later date. PRIVATE ICE RENTAL: The ice can be reserved Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings for a cost of $100.00 per hour. The ice rental cost DOES NOT include the rental of skates. FIGURE SKATING/BEGINNING SKATING: Walk-in registration at the Larson Ice Center on October 16, 5 - 7 p.m. then at the Park & Recreation office Monday - Friday, October 20 - October 24. AFTER October 24, ALL registration will be at the Larson Ice Center ONLY. ONLINE REGISTRATION available October 6, 8 a.m. - October 12, 8 p.m.: https://activenet1.active.com/cityofbrookings/ Session I: November 1 - December 20: Mondays, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.; T & Th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. - noon. (No lessons November 27 & 29) Session II: January 10 - February 21: Mondays, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.; T & Th, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. - noon.
Please Note: Classes available in the following levels: Beginning, Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Freestyle, Adult, and Preschool. New skaters register at beginning level. Class schedules may change due to enrollment. BPRD reserves the right to make schedule changes when necessary to accommodate all skaters.
BROOKINGS FIGURE SKATING CLUB: For information contact Julie Puetz, President; Christi Delfanian, Vice President; or Jackie Rippert, Membership. Fall kick-off will be November 2, 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at Larson Ice Center. Session I skating exhibition will be held December 13 at 1:00 p.m. The Figure Skating Annual Show will be March 14 and 15, 2009. HOCKEY: The Brookings Ice Skating Association, BISA, is a non-profit, parent-run organization that manages the youth hockey program. Hockey is a team sport that gives all players an opportunity to experience its fast pace. BISA currently has: 215 skaters; boys and girls ages 5 through 18; teams from termites to varsity including girls, rental equipment is available for all new players under age 13. All leagues are scheduled to begin October 28 with Hockey Weekend.
