Bicycle Master Plan
Learn How Brookings is Becoming a Bicycle Friendly Town

The City of Brookings will host a Community Workshop on Wednesday, January 25 to gather input on the draft Bicycle Master Plan. The plan will provide guidelines for how to increase bicycle ridership, connectivity, and safety in Brookings. Everyone is welcome to attend and shape the future of bicycling in Brookings.

Wednesday, January 25, 2017
McCrory Gardens Education & Visitor Center, 631 22nd Avenue

  • 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm: View presentation boards and provide written input
  • 6:00 pm – 6:30 pm: Presentation with Q&A
  • 6:30 pm – 7:00 pm: One-on-one conversation with neighbors and project staff

The Community Workshop will provide citizens the opportunity to review and comment on the draft Bicycle Master Plan, which was developed after listening to the ideas of over 500 community members last fall. Input from this Community Workshop will be incorporated into the final Brookings Bicycle Master Plan, which will be considered for adoption by the Brookings City Council.

Attend the workshop to find out how bicycling fits into the vision of Brookings:

  • Review the results of last September’s public engagement process
  • Learn about recommendations for education and enforcement of motorists and bicyclists
  • Become informed about bicycle facility options
  • Provide input on the proposed 2025 Trail Loop and 2040 Bikeway Network maps
  • Examine the bicycling atmosphere of Brookings compared to similar-sized communities
  • Rank your priorities for the future
  • Children can sign a pledge to make Brookings bicycle-friendly

Citizens will also have the opportunity to take an online survey about the plan. The survey will be open between Monday, January 23 and Sunday, February 5.

The City of Brookings, in partnership with the Brookings Bicycle Advisory Committee and Toole Design Group, is hosting the Community Workshop.
