Enforced Rules

The current building codes enforced by the City of Brookings are:

• 2015 Uniform Fire Code
• 2015 International Mechanical Code - not adopted, but use
• 2009 Uniform Plumbing Code - inspected by the South Dakota Plumbing Commission
• 2009 National Electric Code - inspected by the South Dakota Electrical Commission
• 2015 International Building Code
• 2015 International Residential Code

These codes are published by the International Code Council.
