[ARCHIVED] PRESS RELEASE: Armed Robbery In Brookings. Search for Suspect Continues

On Wednesday, October 28th, 2020, at approximately 2308 hours, the Brookings Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Schoon’s Pump ‘n Pak in the 1200 block of Main Avenue South. Through the course of the investigation, officers learned a male subject entered the convenience store and pointed the handgun at a patron and an employee. The male subject pushed the patron and then demanded money from the employee. The male subject fled the store with an undetermined amount of cash. The male subject was described as being approximately 5’11”, weighing approximately 160-170 pounds. He was wearing grey sweat pants, a black hoodie, black gloves, a dark-colored stocking hat, and a black face covering. A white four-door Chevy or GMC pickup was seen leaving the area shortly after the male subject fled from the convenience store.
